How to Watermark Videos with Logo or Text in VLC Media Player
Watermarking is necessary to protect our contents from misusing and being stolen. It is not a big issue for the pictures. We can add copyright text to them using some photo editing apps or online tools and thus ensure no one will use them without your permission. But what about videos? Is it easy to insert logos on them to prove your ownership?
Yes, absolutely. Do you need any complex video editing apps for doing the job?
Nope. Our favorite VLC media player is enough to insert logos, watermark text on videos. It is not just a video player as you know and we can use it for basic video editing as well.
Watermark videos using VLC Media Player
Open your video in the VLC media player and click the “Tools” menu on the top of the screen. Choose “Effects and Filters” from the options. A box will open with relevant settings.
Select “Video Effects” followed by “Overlay” settings.
Check the “Add logo” box and upload your image file to set it as your logo. Adjust its position using the top, left fields, and make the necessary changes based on the real-time preview in the background.
If you don’t have an image file and want to insert logo text on the videos, check the “Add text” box and enter your text in the field. Set its position where you’d like to show the text and go through different options until you are satisfied with the preview. Click the Close button to save and apply your changes.
That’s it.
