Deleting the App is NOT Deleting the Account
To leave eHarmony properly, you must follow a specific sequence of actions:
- Cancel subscription (turn off auto-renewal).
- Decide: Do you want to hide (invisible) or delete (nuclear) your profile?
- Execute deletion.
If you skip step 1, your account may be deleted, but you will still be billed through the App Store or Google Play.
1. How to Cancel Your eHarmony Subscription
If you are a free member, you can skip this section. But if you have paid for a premium membership, this is the most crucial step.
eHarmony subscriptions are set to auto-renew by default. Typically, they will bill you a one-time fee. If you signed up for a 6-month plan, they will charge you for another 6 months the second your current term ends, unless you tell them to stop.
On a web browser:
If you typed your credit card number directly into the eHarmony website, your subscription is managed by eHarmony directly.
- Log In: Go to the eHarmony website on a desktop computer or your mobile browser (Chrome/Safari).
- Go to Settings: Click on the arrow next to your profile picture at the top of the screen.
- Select “Account Settings”: This will open a dashboard of your personal info.
- Find the Billing Tile: Look for a section labelled “Billing” or “Subscription Status.”
- Click “Cancel My Subscription”: You will likely see a link that says “Cancel Subscription” or “Turn off Auto-Renewal.”
- The Retention Gauntlet: This is where it gets annoying. eHarmony will likely show you several screens trying to convince you to stay. They might offer you a discount, show you profiles of people you “might miss,” or ask you why you are leaving.
- Confirm: Keep clicking the options that say “Continue to Cancellation” or “I still want to cancel.”
- Finalize: Once you reach the final screen, you should receive a confirmation email. Save this email. It is your proof if they accidentally charge you later.
On iPhone:
If you subscribed using your Apple ID, eHarmony cannot cancel your subscription. You have to do it through Apple.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your Name/Apple ID at the very top.

- Find eHarmony in the list of active subscriptions.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
- Note: If you do not see a “Cancel” button, but you see text in red that says “Expires on [Date],” that means you have already cancelled it, and it will not renew.
On Android:
If you used the Google Play Store, you must cancel through Google.
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your Profile Icon in the top right.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select eHarmony.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the on-screen instructions.
2. How to Hide Your eHarmony Profile

Here’s what you should do to hide your eHarmony profile from others,
- Sign in to your eHarmony profile first.
Click your profile picture from the top-right side. Pick ‘Data & Settings‘ from the list.
- You will see your membership plan, service password, profile ID, and other details on this page. Scroll down to find the Profile Visibility section.
Drag the toggle button to the left to hide your eHarmony profile.
Thereafter, eHarmony will not show your profile to other members as a match. But people with whom you are already in contact or who have added you to their favorite list can still see your profile.
3. How to Delete eHarmony Account
If you have an active eHarmony subscription, you should contact customer care to delete your account. Free members can follow these steps to delete their eHarmony account permanently.
1. Sign in to your eHarmony account. Click your profile picture from the top-right corner. Select ‘Data & Settings‘ from the list.
2. Scroll down to the bottom.

If you proceed with the request, all your matches and contacts will be deleted. Your personal information and messages will also be erased. It is an irreversible process. So, you can’t restore the profile in any situation.
To confirm, enter your account password and tap on the Delete profile button.
